World wide leaders in adventure equipments
Most of what today is called fun, is activity which puts us into the passive role of observer:
movies, spectator sports, bars, television, the internet, and even some parties. The activity ends, and with it, the fun.
In the outdoors and especially the mountains, we can enjoy participatory activities alone or in good company: backpacking, rock climbing, mountaineering, camping , hiking, snowshoeing, self propelledtravel. We love to… backpack because we are participants, not mere observers.
When the outdoor activity ends, the fun lingers because the “experience has become a part of us”. WCLeitch
